Learn what makes the DCON Punk Drunkers Mario Skate Deck a unique collectible, who it's for, and how to decide if it fits your collection.
Quick answer
The DCON Punk Drunkers Mario Skate Deck is a Designer Con exclusive collectible that blends street-art attitude with a punk-inspired Mario design. It's best for fans of pop-art crossovers who want a display piece, not a functional skateboard.
Why this deck stands out
Unlike mass-produced skateboards, this deck is a Designer Con exclusive, meaning it was created specifically for that event and is not widely available. The punk-inspired Mario art gives it a rebellious street-art feel that sets it apart from typical character merchandise.
Because it's a skate deck format, it's designed for wall display or collection rather than riding. The artwork is the main draw, so treat it as a canvas piece rather than a functional board.
What to consider before buying
This is a collectible, not a toy or a usable skateboard. If you're looking for a deck to actually skate, this isn't the right choice. The value lies in its exclusivity and art, not in performance specs.
The price point (around $54, compared to a $75 catalog reference) reflects its collectible nature. It's affordable for an exclusive piece, but only worth it if you appreciate the punk aesthetic and the Designer Con connection.
How to decide if this deck is for you
- You love pop-art crossovers: If you enjoy seeing familiar characters reimagined with a punk or street-art twist, this deck delivers that mashup in a display-friendly format.
- You collect Designer Con exclusives: As a DCON exclusive, this deck adds event-specific rarity to your collection. It's a conversation piece that connects to the broader designer toy and art scene. Check if you already have other DCON decks to keep the theme consistent.
- You want a functional skateboard: This deck is not built for skating. The artwork is the priority, and riding it would damage the collectible value. Look for a standard skateboard if you plan to ride. Consider a separate deck for actual skating if you're also a skater.
