LA-based painter Brian Viveros brings his gritty, sexy aesthetic to art toys with the Dirtyland vinyl figure from 3DRetro. Drawn from his The Dirtyland collection, Bullheaded features a striking female character that’s part bullfighter, part soldier and all siren.
An edition of 200, the Dirtyland vinyl art toy (9.75″) for $200
The blood-splatter details on the boxer's bust are way sharper in person than I expected from photos. I've got it sitting on my desk next to my other vinyl figures and it completely steals the shelf. The headband sculpt alone was worth the wait.
The paintwork on the face is insanely detailed for a vinyl bust this size, right down to the tiny blood splatter. She sits on my shelf next to my other art toys and honestly stands out the most. Way better in person than in the promo photos.
She’s heavier than I expected for a vinyl bust, which makes her feel substantial on the shelf. The gritty paintwork on her face and the bull headdress really captures Viveros’s style, and the matte finish keeps her from looking cheap. Already eyeing another piece from the collection.
