I grabbed this for the 40th anniversary and the Bousamra cover is the reason I didn't hesitate. Seeing Blue Belle, Minty, and Cotton Candy together on one page brought back sitting on my bedroom floor with my original six.
The cover art featuring Blue Belle and Minty together is genuinely lovely, and the paper quality feels nicer than most anniversary editions I've picked up. I bought two so I could keep one bagged and actually read the other.
The nostalgia hit me the second I flipped through this special edition—it’s a real love letter to the original six ponies without feeling like a cash grab. The Bousamra cover art pops way more in person than on screen, and the paper quality feels sturdy enough to last another forty years.
